Volunteers are needed for this annual progressive dinner through the Ross Park Zoo, supporting animals. Helpers will be assisting in setting up food and raffle basket stations, getting food vendors in place, preparing the raffle area and possibly assisting in serving food. Volunteers over 21 may be asked to bartend. Volunteers will also help in cleaning up in preparation for the next day's Grand Opening.
Volunteers are needed to help with Ross Park Zoo's 150th Grand Opening May 23-26 during 3 1/2 hour shifts each day. Shifts are 9:30 a.m.-1p.m. and 12:30 p.m.-4 p.m. Volunteers monitor small and large-child bounce castles, oversee cornhole and ring toss games and assist the Education staff in conducting nature-play crafts.
A docent is a person who acts as a guide and teacher to zoo visitors to enhance their experience. Docents will use interpretive storytelling to make meaningful connections between visitors and with the conservation stories of the animals in our care.
Weekday individual assignments as they arise to assist in craft projects, office support, decorating, light construction outside of groundskeeping. Must be available between the hours of 9-5 on one or more week days.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of jobs to clean up and maintain the areas around the paths and habitats at the zoo. Projects include but are not limited to: debris removal, assisting in planting and maintaining the zoo garden areas while painting and minor repairs to signage and art installations and organization in storage areas may also be needed.
