Having trouble making out their paw prints? Red pandas don't have paw pads like most mammals, instead their paws are covered with fur. The fur provides extra insulation in the cold weather and traction when climbing on slippery branches.
The red panda population has declined by over 50% in the last 20 years and with fewer than 2,500 red pandas in the wild they are considered an endangered species.
